The Reckoning

The mission in pictures.

The Kill Team defeated the first incarnation fo the heretic Blood Angel Errata quickly, after his attempts to confuse the killteam & turn them on each other, meet with only partial success. (no pictures we taken of this engagement)

Brother Luther, Took a greivious wound from his battle brother Artemis Memnon. The Emperor's Scythe was momentarially convinced that he was back on Sotha, as a initiate. Errata taking the form of a senior Emperor's Scythe, ordered the young Memnon to strike down an unworthy initiate & take his place in the ranks of the chapter.

Memnon had done so & struck Luther with a cruel swing. The blow from the power scythe cut deep into the Templars chest knocking him to his knees.

After an hour or so of rest the team moved off again in search of Errata, who they knew had not been completely vanquished, his empty armour falling to the floor when he was struck down.

....

The Traitor re-appears & this time brings a brotherhood of his own, each a champion of one of the ruinous powers.

Errata now sporting the armour of a Thousand son sorcerer stands back as his minion engage the kill Team. Crusader Luther & Techmarine Nathaniel of the Black Templars together with the Sky claw Haakon, engage the champions of Khorne, Nurgle & Slaanesh...



Brother Memnon, fires past the ensuing melee with his storm bolter on full auto, peppering Errata with witchbolts & thus reducing his power to such that he could no longer push it to its extreme, buying the kill team some grace in dealing with his minions. Brother Aslan deals further damage to the Fallen Angel hitting Errata with a plasma blast of immense power....

Realising the threat that the Killteam's fire power posed, Errata take steps to counter it. Summoning forth from the warp a foul spawn of Chaos. Brother Cristus looks into the warp itself as the threat emerges, but steals himself against the madness he sees...


Seeing his commander engaged by the spawn, Memnon moves to his aid, firing a glancing blow at Errata from his storm bolter as he does so. The scorcer is hit twice & reels back wth more foul curses!


As Memnon reaches the combat between the Ultramarine & the spawn, another warpgate is opened by Errata, eager to punish the Emperor's Scythe for his almost constant Barrage of fire. Spilling forth from the warp is another vile Chaos spawn & Memnon feels its corruption touch his soul as he peers for a moment into the warp itself.

Memnon faints away from the beasts strikes & counters with a vicious strike with his power scythe, cleaving off a talon limb & forcing the spawn back. Cristus trades blows with the first spawn as his own combat rages.
