WFRP 2nd Edition Campain
Since having a read of the 3rd edition rules i found them quite limiting combatwise and for the number of players.
But my interest has been sparked so i downloaded a load of 2nd edition PDF's and got to reading. Im much more comfortable with this edition.
I want to start up a short adventure. I want to know whos interested and what kind of characters people want to play. I have an idea for the location and main plot of the adventure but want to craft it a little around the people playing. The adventure will be very open for the players to explore anywhere they want/do whatever they want and will be much more than just combat.
People dont have to have to go out and download and read the rulebook for themselves if they dont have them allready, you can play human, elf, dwarf of halfling and there are about 200 careers available, if you have a vague idea of what you want to play as i can pick out a few starting careers for you to choose from.

Ok so i was loosely thinking of setting the adventure in and around Talabhiem, i think a nice and central place to start for some would be adventurers, not too overwelming. For those who dont know Talabecland is relatively average in nearly everyway, not especially rich or large, no specialist equipment or anything made there, only thing they are realy known for is decent hunters. A good place for some completely average joe's to start there rise to greatness imo.
If you must, but ill tell you this, the people of Talabecland are preaty yokel and you are going to have ALOT of trouble from them being both a wizard and an elf. As long as your ok with that then sure, what school of magic or do elves not use them at all? havent bothered with the magic rules yet
Hum ok nice idea but not easy to do stright off, some ideas:
Hunter > Scout is the easiest way to make the archer character you want but isnt realy representative of the state troop side.
Soldier is more appropriate for representing anyone from a state troop background however its not easy to specialise as an archer, possibly moving into an outrider as an advaced career.
Neither of the above however cover any aspect of the river however there alot of river basic careers such as Riverwarden or Marine which is possibly closest skillwise to what you want.
Basically nice idea but its a bit elite the starting characters are realy litterally what meanial job do you do/how did you make a living PREVIOUSLY, not what elite fiting force where you part of, most of the jobs are litterally farmer, tradesman(blacksmith) ect. Have a think about it and get back to me
Yeah thats cool, not a bad idea but if your easy about you wana be then you might wana wait and see how the rest of the party pans out before you commit.
Ill tell you guys this, there will be plenty of combat out there as there allways is in the warhammer world but you wont be able to fight your way through the adventure! There will quickly be combats you cannot win (no matter what career you pick you arent that powerful) and you wont just be able to talk your way out (people will need to have appropriate skills for such things). So basically if you just go a load of combat characters you guys aint ever going to achieve anything!

I could choos Hunter/scout in that case, as the woodsmen normally make up a large portion of the river patroll.
by the way Stirlanders hate, Talabeclanders! goes back to the war of the three emperors.
